PRODUCT & INSTALLATIONS
Select product design projects and sculpture installations from my time at University of Oregon. Some of these projects were created in partnership with the faculty, others were independently developed as part of additional studio work
ATMO BAGS
As part of a senior design studio, we were tasked with protoyping a series of products with the intention of bringing those products to market. This three-bag series was developed as a rugged, modular, adventure-and-travel-inspired set.

SCOPE AND CONSIDERATIONS
THREE PIECE COLLECTION
Project scope was to create a series of three bags: A duffel, a travel backpack, and an organizer.
WEATHER-RESISTANT
Since this line was outdoor-inspired, basic weather resistance was important.
BEST-IN-CLASS DURABILITY
Given the use case and target market, bomb-proof durability was established as an early priority.

MASS SHARPENER
There is just something awesome about the classic “Boston” pencil sharpener of the 80s and 90s. Maybe it’s the relentless reliability, or the bulky weight of the thing. Either way, I set out to bring this legend of the office and classroom into a more contemporary space.

SCOPE AND CONSIDERATIONS
MUST BE FUNCTIONAL
A huge part of this scope was that it had to work when complete. Most of my choices revolved around this very important detail.
RELATE TO THE ORIGINAL
It was important that this form visually relate to the original Boston design, without too much need for artistic license.
INCLUDE A SNAP FIT
One of the design requirements was that this project include a snap-fit assembly, making this form an ideal candidate for development.

SCULPTURE AND INSTALLATION
A collection of sculpture and installation pieces, most of which were created during my studio work at the University of Oregon.
MIXED MEDIUM VARIOUS SIZES
SMALL WORKS
This was a series of small, wall-mounted sculptures intended to work both independently and as part of the complete set. Materials for this assembly were all leftovers from other projects.

HITCHED
Constructed mostly from shattered fragments of wood and other materials, this installation draws tenuous connections between the chaos of relationship building and the at-times-precarious balance in play during this process.

IMBALANCE
This installation was largely a commentary on “ability” as it pertains to my ongoing, chronic ankle injury. Featuring plaster sculptures of my own feet, perched aggressively atop the podium, the viewer is also placed into a position of unsteadiness by being forced to stand in and on piles of large gravel below.

VIOLENT PAST
This assembly of steel rods, paper, canvas, and burlap with wicker strands is designed to appear both alien and unapproachable, while retaining a sense of natural origins.

RH TROPHY
Designed as a commissioned piece for RH construction in Bend, Oregon, this trophy was to be given out as part of a larger employee marketing effort they were developing at that time.
